The picture explains it all.

Indeed.

The last 2 weeks of my life wasn't as smooth running as it should be.
Plans were made and carried out, however the outcome didn't seem right.
To a certain extent that tears start filling up my dry eyes and it wouldn't stop.
Despite the tears, waking up in the morning with mixed feelings isn't pleasant at all.
Probably the pressure was too much to take.

I would say that I've always tried to put up a strong front with presence of others.
And I was described as someone who only cries when necessary.
Nonetheless, everything has changed recently.
It feels like whether you are tearing alone or in front of other, it's a sense of comfort.
It feels like tears washes off what has been obstructing you from a clearer and better view of everything.
Hence, at times a few drops of tears and a shoulder to lean on is necessary.

Upon submitting my assignment yesterday, I feel this sense of emptiness in me.
The heavy burden that I have been carrying for the past 2 weeks was no longer there anymore.
I could not describe that sense of relieve neither can I describe what I feel.
It's just amazing how I can just sit and observe the others at the train station and my mind was totally blank.
It's just hard to explain but it feels GREAT.

Today is one memorable day
Not because it was a lucky day neither was it a wonderful day
Somehow it feels like I am sharing another's bad luck

With the intention to make a trip to uni to collect my assignment and enroll for my compulsory subject
I took the train to subang then waited for the bus to sunway
After 45 mins, I am still stuck at the bus stop
Hence, I called a friend to see whether she could pick me up
She said okay but I would need to wait for another 45 mins
So I waited for her and as I was waiting, there is a black guy sitting next to me
Initially, he was just sitting silently beside
All of a sudden he tapped on my shoulder and started talking to me
And he couldn't stop talking for the next 30 mins
He started talking about crappy stuff on love, his life in UK and how he is a footballer in some club
Also about how he could keep in touch with me (I'm like WTF?!)
I freaked out and thought of excusing myself perhaps to the shopping complex nearby
But I feared that he would follow hence I remained there
Keeping my fingers crossed that my friend would reach in no time
Finally when my friend was there to pick up, I quickly got up and walked away from him
Freaky!

Then we both proceed to Sunway college coz my friend had to meet someone there
We manage to get ourselves a parking in the college compound
Upon leaving, we paid the parking ticket
As we approach the machine, we realized we lost the ticket
We failed to search for the ticket even though we went back trailing the road
So we had to pay the penalty for losing the ticket which cost us 20 bucks

After all that, in the same car park we met with an accident
We banged into another car and my friend have to fork out another amount of money to pay her
Then my friend was too afraid to drive anymore that I took over
Driving to meet up with Nadia and then back to Monash and lastly back to the KTM station

Despite all that unfortunate events, meeting Nadia for the last time before she leaves do make us less unlucky that day
It was perhaps the "luckiest" thing that has happened to us

Neways, I will not know when will I ever meet Nadia again
Therefore, take care of yourself no matter which part of the world are you in
whether is it South Africa, US or Korea
I wish you all the best in your future undertakings!
Hopefully that bottle of stars would bring you all the luck you need
And please do remember us!!
Never forget us, you fickle minded, bubbly, unpredictable and loud Korean!

sadly, things don't look too good this time

probably I've been slacking too much lately

the motivation to study seems so far fetched

bearing in mind that there is still time left

disappointing myself at moments of determination

hopes are shattered even before sitting for the paper

for the fact that this paper would be a paper that I will merely pass

with emotions like anxiety, fear and inadequacy running through the cells in my body

a short break ahead of the examination does soothe the emotional conflict within

as I am counting down to the day that I can,

To post this up on my blog would be slightly backdated but who cares as long as it creates awareness.
A campaign to save the tigers incorporates 1 well established ad agency and the WWF.
As we know, tiger is an endangered species.
Numbers are reducing annually and if we do not do our part in protecting them,
Someday our grandchildren will turn to us and pop the question: "What is a tiger?"

Previously with one of the tiger abusing video(A Famosa Resort) posted up on Facebook,
I am sure many of you have seen what we as human beings are doing to them.
Some of you might doubt that it's true but that is actually what's happening to these poor animals.
We don't have to look at any other countries, Malaysia bares it all.
And if this is happening here, could you imagine what other countries could do them as well.

saying goodbye is much harder than it seems to be

although it's only for 3 months

no more whining companion

nobody to share the household chores with

no more evening badminton games

all these will be gone for 3 months

I am gonna miss them so much.

CNY

I've have been celebrating CNY for 22 yrs now

Truthfully, I've never understand the true meaning behind CNY until recently

I am sure to every Chinese celebrating CNY would know that it's a simple celebration with closely related family members and a reunion where everyone meets everyone annually without fail

For 21 yrs, CNY has been just an ordinary yearly routine

Basically we do the same thing every year

An ordinary reunion dinner at my grnadma's place, followed by stacks of DVDs for the rest of the days (violent movies most of the time) and of course not forgetting CNY visiting as well as red packets

Everything was the same every year until each and everyone of us could predict what we are gonna do for the following years and soon we got bored of it

Hence, CNY no longer possess any significance to our family

The spirit of CNY died off as years pasess by

Until recently, I truly understand what is CNY all about

It's such a simple term, FAMILY..

Being able to gather together and meet all ur close relatives is best thing u could ever wish for be it a reunion dinner in a fine dining restaurant or in that old house of ur grandparents'

Being able to catch up with them is a blessing telling me that I should be grateful

Playing a simple game like 'chor tai ti' and blackjack minus the gambling with a big bunch of cousins would make such a blissful memory

Watching violent movies on every CNY eve, a trademark of our family shall it be

Grandparents', Aunties, Uncles, Mommies and Daddies distributing ang pows is a great delight to all of us by the end of the day

Loud laughs and voices of everyone in the house providing enough joy to share over the festive season

Lastly, lousang, big prawns, roasted duck and chicken, cans of shandy, packets of kuacis and groundnuts, a basket of mandarin oranges, containers filled with cookies are the favourites of our family

That was CNY to me, what about yours?

I've seen all this coming to me this few days

At some point, I felt that everything makes sense after all

And I did not understand it until I am 22

I should be ashamed of myself, shouldn't I?

it gets even worse after replying to april's mail

it has been more than 2 months since she we last saw her

no idea when we will see her again

but I am keeping my fingers crossed that it would be really soon

we barely talk to her in this 2 long months

and she seems to be really busy

though we miss her so much, we were also glad that her dreams came true

her dream to study in UK once seems far fetched

due to some personal problems

but now that she's there, we are glad that she's doing fine

my super long summer break has finally arrived

life away from uni, meaning life free from assignments and exams..

exams was not that bad this time

however, my results are expected to be worse than the last one

too much of last minute work this sem

my bad

well, come what may

will just have to work harder the followin semester

somehow I am not used to days where I spend my time effortlessly

life used to be more productive and time used to be well spent

currently, it seems like there isn't much to do

plans I had before this?

I think my only plan for the holidays was to work

still job hunting tho and fun seems far fetched as I am broke

had a great weekend with my bestie's graduation and the yumyum penang trip

Hence, these are one of the days where your feet swim in your shoes

Unfortunately for me, I was wearing a long pants along with my red sneakers

Though I felt disgusted with the feeling of being wet

This rainy day relieves the hot weather in the past few months

recently, random thoughts has occupied much space in my mind

from assignments to exams,part time jobs,holiday plans, and something explicitly random;

a future plan - sounds serious rite?

no worries..just a deal between a close friend and me

We dealt on backpacking travelling by the age of 32 if either of us has not settled down

Y backpacking?

coz we figured we might not be able to make a fortune in a short period of 8 years unless we hit a jackpot

hence plans for luxurious trips has to be terminated

Well, both of us loves travelling

a passion we both share very much..

I would say if I am not studying communications now, I would be in the traveling line now just like her

likewise, I recalled making another similar deal with another friend of mine back in college days

therefore, maybe someday we 3 could all go on backpacking together..

random right?

I mean it may sound like I've had my life all planned out

but frankly, NO as this notion came to me out of nowhere

I guess it came to me when I realised that there is much more to life other than love

Love may seem ultimate and a priority to someone else

but it remains as a secondary to me

the thought of being tied down to a lifetime commitment scares me most of the time

maybe it's just me but freedom comes first

somehow, I got used to being single and independent

being single means being free from most probably the most excruciating pain of all

though at times you might need to face some loneliness issues

however, loneliness is another issue altogether

next to my family, my friends matter the most

so if I was ever given a choice to choose between friend and love

I would certainly go for friendship

yes, I could say that I am a postmodernist (a lil i guess)

but in an era of globalisation, it is really common..wakaka..

sorry but I had globalisation as a subject this sem and television studies which explores much on this concept

hence, implementing my studies in a blog spot is not bad after all

that would mean that I actually paid attention in classes..haha

regardless of how much thought I would like to put into my holiday plans

I should really be studying at this point

off to my studies now..or should I say lunch?

brief update

I guess it's time for some updates

but in fact, there's isn't much to update either

my updates would seem rather lame

coz nothing major really happened

classes resumed after my mid sem break which was about 2 weeks ago

after that, I've been chilling most of the time until last weekend

when I finally realised that my finals are approaching and I still have 2 assignments to submit this week

hence, started on assignments and finished one of them yday

as I mentioned earlier, when finals are approching meaning that my summer break is on its way too

that would mean I have 4 months long holidays

it was a plan from the start that I am gonna earn some extra allowance during this break

so I knew I had to remove my butt from the sofas and start looking for a job

recently, I met up with an ex colleague

and she suggested I should go back and work as part time but this time home based

the idea sounds really tempting, I can forget about tiring travelling

and it pays quite well for a part time job (rm7 per hour)

however, I am hesitating coz I know how exhausting that job could be tho it's only part time

and the fact that I am working away from office, when problems emerges from clients

I will have to make loads of calls back to the head office

that notion scares me

it would also mean I won't get to experience other kind of jobs

such dilemma..*sigh*

me and a friend was discussing about our psychology assignment

the question was "what do we replace animals with in psychology experiments to test effects of the drug?"

and we came out with a conclusion that we can't clone human (ethical issues) and plants (validity of the results)

hence, there are no other living creatures on earth except animals right?

however there are also ethical issues imposed to the usage of animals

thus we trying to act smart came up with this conversation

talking about it now gives me the goosebumps already

I find both of us really eerie and we are getting nowhere actually

30 hour famine

It was one great weekend where I starved with 7,000 other campers of the famine
That would be my longest starvation in 21 years
I successfully starved for 30 hours
That's 1 day and 6 hours
So proud of myself *wakaka*

However, I guess the meaning to this famine is beyond the starvation
I've learned much about the other side of the world
Where people dun consume McD like we do,
Where people dun study in a fully faciliated institution,
Where people dun even get to watch 'Heroes'
Where people dun even go for grocery shopping
Where people gets poorer by the day
Where survival is a major issue

During the countdown event in Stadium Putra Bkt Jalil
Where we endure our last 6 hours of famine
Tears keep rolling down my cheeks
As the advocates and the artist motivates and thank us for courage
I know I might be too emotional
But I feel that it is such a rare occasion
Where thousands of people gather together
To contribute one small bit of their energy and make a big difference

A very contenting weekend I would say
Hopefully I would be able to join again in future years

Kuantan trip with cartoonz

Our last trip with KC before she leaves for Scotland
To further her studies
She will be gone for 4 - 5 years
*Sob* =(

As usual trips with cartoonz are fun-filled and crazy oriented
Not forgetting our SK's yummylicious tuna sandwich
Also, we came up wit a new tagline for SK: 'anytime, anywhere, anyhow'
So I am not the only one with a tagline ok? - (rihanna of the night) *winks*
The 'hot' topic of this trip is kinda obscene, thus it's *censored*
Enough of our crazy hot topics and taglines

Back to Kuantan..
Our prior destinations are of course the beaches
Firstly, we went to Teluk Chempedak
Oh, so much more cleaner than the beaches in PD
And they have a tropical McD there, nice!
Imagine having a McD sundae or Mcflurry at the beach
Ooops!* something missing*..no cute guys la! LOL
Straying too far..come back!*slap face*

Ok, Teluk Chempedak
Besides being clean, the coastline is really long too
And small lil crabs, so afraid I would step on any of them
Scenery not bad, took alot of photos there
Writing on the beach din work out here, so postponed to Cherating beach
We din do kite flying or cycling coz we were too occupied with camwhoring

Next day, we went to Cherating beach
Finally, I stepped my foot onto the land of Terengganu
Happy coz I've never been to the east coast and I've always wanted to
The beach is really nice
Walked along the coastline and collected seashells
Meanwhile the rest was busy with sandcastle
Jumping into the sea, acting like they were gonna commit suicide
Writing on the beach, finally getting our trademark somewhere haha
Then, went hunting for keropok lekor in the ramadhan bazaars on the way home

the misfortunes

yday did not start off well
to start the day off, I barely slept (only managed to sleep for approx. 3 hrs)
waking up so early 3 days a week has became a routine since last sem
due to insufficient sleep, I slept in the train yday morning
and I end up on the verge of missing my stop at subang (phew!)
then, as I walking towards the bus stop I accidentally banged my forehand on some pole there (ouch! lucky takde benjol)
after that, life went on as usual with classes, lunch and all
as I was about to go home, I thought of getting some water from the water dispenser
the water was kinda cold hence refilled some hot water as well
suddenly a small accident happened so quickly that I couldn't catch how everything happened
the next thing I know, hot water was all over my hand (freaking hot!)
terlecur a bit but not really serious
however the pain was excruciating all the way home

a fren of mine asked me to look on the bright side of everything
somehow, I feel that there's just too much to digest in a day
they always say when God closes a door, He opens another window
I guess the window that is opened for me today would be something which relieves me from the worries I had since last weekend
Finally I managed to get my fren on the phone today ( the fren I mentioned in my last post)
I was so relieved, hearing her on the phone meaning she's alright
and of course also to settle matters concerning the event
thus, I think all the misfortunes yday are worthwhile after all

in the next few weeks, I'll be going through all that hassle again
assignments and datelines are not even a mile away from me
it's already week 4 in uni
during this period last semester, I would have submitted my very first assignment
but at the same period this semester, I am still procastinating
I have not even started doing any research for my 1st assignment this sem

I got my the question for my 1st assesstment alr
it's such a vast and general topic that I dun even where should I start
give it a guess..GLOBALISATION
we are supposed to choose a side whether are we for or against it
but there are so many aspects to globalisation to start with
though we are only supposed to focus on 1 aspect but still I find it not easy
a 500 word editorial/speech
seems easy rite?

psychology this sem is starting to get a bit dry when it comes to studying about RDA
RDA - Research Design Analysis
the amount of slides solely for this topic in a lecture can go up to 103
gawd..how are we supposed to bare with so may slides when it is so dry?
this sem is challenging in a way but it is draining more energy out of me compared to last sem
we even have presentations,lab reports and posters in form of writing
I guess the going just gets tough
happens all the time rite?

CKI National Convention '09

it has been 2 weeks since the convention ended
but the memories are still vivid in my mind
an event filled with great experience and not forgetting great company

this national convention is actually an event where they gather all Circle K members in Malaysia
particularly in Klang valley and also the one in Johor
the objective of the event was to promote fellowship, leadership skills and also to serve ppl which is the main purpose of all Circle K clubs under Kiwanis International
basically what's more interesting about the convention was to meet ppl from other colleges

the absence

I am really sorry bout the absence
But for the past few days I was just not fit enough to come online even to facebook

Firstly, I was at a convention in Dusun Eco Resort, Bentong, Pahang over the weekend
a great weekend, a weekend well spent and spent wisely
right after that, I headed straight to PC fair to get my brand new laptop coz I would be needing it soon enough
and my dad bought a new camera too and suprisingly it's METALLIC RED (just like my phone)

after that weekend, things gotten from bad to worse
on monday, I was down with a very dry throat and I keep coughing all day long
on tuesday, the cough was gone and I was down with fever pulak
then, yday I had flu
this morning I woke up with sore throat and now it had 2 additional frens which cough and flu

I haven't been sick for ages which means my immunity system should be alrite
but now I doubt that
furthermore with H1N1 spreading radically
it's just hard not to admit that we are all scared that we will get infected
however, I never regetted my trip to that convention
it's was worth all the hassle and tired-ness
monash Circle K-ers rock!
we are so honoured to be organizing the 3rd Circle K National Convention 2010
I am so looking forward to it..
and I hope to see u peeps from other colleges in the next convention

after 1 month of holidays procastinating and practically wasting time
I was back in uni for almost a week already
checked out my results for last semester
was as expected so I am glad
good enough to make me happy

however,I don't feel good about this semester
I can even feel the hectic-ness that I will be going through this sem
all the hassle of completing assignments and meeting datelines is all coming back to me now
just checked out the datelines for my psychology assignments yday
I was so shocked to see them
all of them are due in sept and there is about 7 to 8 assignments(minor and major ones)
on top of that, I am sure that datelines for other subjects will also be in sept especially the major ones
I don't understand the unit coordinator
why on the earth do they need to make student's life so miserable?
:miserable:

besides academics,I am also involved in curricular activities
joined a club and there is so many events on their calendar this semester
installation night la,convention la,C&S week la etc..
all of these require much effort and time to plan and organize
:suffocating: I need air!

then I have my own social activities that require planning and not forgetting financially too
kuantan trip la,cartoonz day (if possible), 30 hour famine, fren's 21st
oh God, save me!

FINALLY..

I managed to finish this book that has been left untouched on my bookshelf for almost 2 years

read a review about the book in some newspaper 2 years back

find the book kinda inspirational

hence, the purchase

kinda cheap too(RM19.90) as it is locally published and the short stories are by teenagers my age at that time

I never did see that buying expensive books as a wise investment back then when I was young

furthermore, how loaded can a teen like me be at that age?

anyways, after finishing this book I felt a sense of accomplishement

coz I have not successfully finished reading any book(fiction) in the past 2 years especially during college

other reasons why I feel such accomplishment are:

- 2 years back, I stop reading it half way through because I don't quite understand most of the words (I admit la,my vocabulary was bad 2 years back but it has been a lil better since I started uni). Somehow, this time around I can read through pages and pages of stories without flipping through a dictionary

- the stories was truly inspirational as according to the review I read earlier and I further understand the values in life though some of these values are conveyed by amateur writers in their short stories (I find it impressive when these young people understand so much about life as some stories are not based on true life experiences)

as the book is a compilation of short stories by malaysian writers, I find something pretty amusing

it's actually the names of 2 writers and they are actually siblings

well, I'll let u guys have a guess at it and I'll solve the mystery behind these names in my next post (dun worry la,it won't be long before my next post)

For the past few days I was literally disconnected from almost everyone except my uni mates
I do not have my laptop with me and there was no internet connection in my grandma's place

the only entertainment I had was the television, radio,newspaper and not forgetting my walkman phonein in fact, I did more reading than I ever had in ages such as:

1. reading the newspaper and;

2. an old book left on my bookshelf for almost 2 years now

I would describe the life back in ipoh with my grandma as laidback and relaxing

furthermore, with the cooling morning breeze alongside the cold and wet nights makes the weather seem so wonderful

we can only see the sun rising when after 11am (well,that's what u get when ur house is right next to the a huge and high mountain)

staying back there for a 5 days 4 nights trip brings back all the vivid memories that I used to have there when I was younger with my lil bro

We used to visit our grandma during our school holidays

She would always take the effort and go through all the hassle while making her way to klang and bring us back there for a long stay, err..at least a week

during our stay there, she would cook our favourite dishes and bring us to the indoor arcade in Super Kinta to play all sorts of kiddo games (sudah close down now, tinggal the big market only)

bring us to the market near her house to buy breakfast especially glutinous rice with shredded egg

(*drools*) and the grocery shops to buy snacks,ice cream,junk food etc..

in the evening,we would always hang around the balcony where an old swing is placed (dun think u can find anything like that around, like really antique)

those were the days la..well at least it was a 5 days well spent for this trip

enough of my grandmother stories..let's jump to the snippets I got from her place

I've been wanting to post some thing about last weekend
but words don't seem to be coming out from blardy brain

all in all, I was glad that the problems between my parents has been resolved now
at least it's a good kick start; all thanks to my dad's friend=)

wanted to catch transformers with my bro n mom on sat at aeon bkt tinggi
what we actually overlooked was the thought that there will still be tickets
as we approach the cinema, we saw a huge crowd at the ticket counter, the F & B counter and not forgetting the main entrance to their respective cinemas
the queue was unimaginable, tickets were out from the morning slot till the slot at 9pm
hence, we canceled the plan to catch a movie and went home instead
nonetheless, we had some fun at home being plumbers of the day

on sun, we had one great family gathering though we had to wake up so early in the morning
we had a delicious breakfast of 'bak kut teh' and buffet dinner with all the relatives in the Lee family
all of us gathered under one roof with lame jokes and my dad's loud voice has always been a routine in our family gatherings
there was so much fun though time spent together was short

The fact that I won't be seeing u for another 6 months reminds me of the days we spent together

I am done with exams for almost a week now
exams was a total screw up especially the last paper
din manage to finish the paper
becoz of poor time management and writing 2300 words in 2 hours

the fact that this is my first exam in monash
all this seems really new
and I din expect to have better planning before I step into the exam hall
I was well prepared but I guess I am lack of a lil luck
Praying hard that at least I could get a credit for my last paper

Embracing myself for the worst
Will be heading to genting this weekend

I feel really dry, drained out and exhausted
Weeks and weeks of assignments is terrible
Initially the subjects I am taking is supposed to be fun
but the workload is such a spoiler
have been cracking my head to finish pages and pages of essays

training a stupid virtual rat taking hours and hours of placing my butt on the chair
working on essays and reading till the wee hours all alone

I dun want to rant too much but I feel flat like a piece of pancake now
why?
coz I have stacks and stacks of papers on top of me

everyone have monday blues
and I have mine too today
firstly, I had to wake up earlier than usual
then as I was waiting for the train,
they announced "tren ke sentul yang akan tiba pada jam 8.15 pagi telah dibatalkan dan telah mengalami kelewatan selama 20 minit"
fine. I waited.
in the train I fall asleep and when I woke up I thought I missed my stop so I got down the train
but it turned out that the train was at batu tiga station which 1 stop before subang
fine.fine. I waited again.
at the bus stop, as I was looking out for my the bus
finally I saw it and when it stopped, I wanted to get on it
but, the bus fled
fine.fine.fine. I waited for the 3rd time consecutively.
later, I msged my fren thinking that she might be able to pick me up
she told me that she does not have a car
I'm like WTF is wrong today la!
already not feeling very good about monday blues
y is everything not going my way too?
WTF is wrong with me today?

at last I am in the uni now blogging my time away
supposed to meet a fren to discuss assignment but her car broke down
and I have no book to do my readings as the books are in her car
so while waiting for class, internet would be saviour
but the connection here is freaking slow coz of their maintainence
banyak frustrating la today

something similar happened last thursday too
I did not get down on the wrong stop
but I waited 2 freaking hours for the bus
in the end, I only managed to get a bus to pyramid and I walked all the way to monash
under the hot blazing sun

I guess the public transport in subang hated me
they dun like me
so they dun wanna bring me to my destination

I just love my film studies lecturer, Mr.Benjamin
he is just so nice
today he granted all of us a general extension for our assignment
extension meaning that he extended the dateline of our assignment

as a matter of fact, we all needed that extension because it's a major assignment
as it contributes 50% of our overall grade
and we dun have any examination for this unit
hence this assignment is really really MAJOR
besides that, we have other assignments in hand too
all due in the same week
if we dun get an extension, I doubt we can all come out with a good argument
and also not demonstrating wider readings
and that would lead to bad grades

so, it's really nice of him to grant all of us an extension even though only 1 of us came up to him and ask for it
thank you so much!
now I can just procastinate a lil bit

I am feeling contented today cos I donated blood for the 2nd time in my life
my 1st was 2 years back

though I have bruises and despite the fact that I only got 5 hours of sleep
just so that I can go donate blood
I still feel very contented and satisfied
knowing that I might have saved someone's life with such a small contribution
brings joy to everything I do today
it seriously feels different
even feeling tired is different from the routine restlessness

all in all, I am happy today!

time flies, in a blink of an eye 1 week of break is gone
I can hardly remember how I actually spent my holidays
basically I guess I was in major procrastination and now I am feeling remorseful

no time to regret now
I have to start on another pile of assignments
psychology which is literally making people go psycho with the amount of assignments
imagine just to get a 2.5%, u need to do so much of research and writing a number of essays
with a boring lecturer and a tutor who is a total jerk makes life even harder in psychology

then comes international studies
a subject of my own choice but eventually turning into a disaster cos I am lousy debater
debating on issues which are totally strangers to me
like cold war, Korean war, post world war 2 and etc.
struggling to beat the boredom of world history
and imagining it as a good storybook

next is film studies
an interesting subject nonetheless very abstract and technical at the same time
no doubt we get to watch free movies without the need to pay for a ticket
but comprehending the facets of a film and the values in it is somehow really complicating

recently, I got back the assignments I submitted before the break
it seems like scoring well in an assignment is no longer a simple task
a distinction requires a lot of effort, time and most importantly it has to be original
for my 1st assignment, I got a credit
though not very contented but it's a stepping stone to a better one in future
and according to peers in uni, a credit for 1st assignments are considered good
how far is it true I do not know
this is when we always tell ourselves to learn from our mistakes
a form of self comforting and self motivation I presume

gotta run back to my assignments now
reading on how to achieve happiness - positive psychology
interesting huh?

I found about something that I wish I never know yesterday
somehing I have been clinging on to for some time
wishing that it might work out someday
or at least let me a draw a fine line in between to conclude everything

I was not given that chance to conclde it properly
therefore memories of it is still lingering in the heart of my mind
now that I know that things are not gonna work the way I want it to be
I do not know how to end it

Allow me to use symbolism to best describe my dilemma and maybe u guys would have a better perspective on which option is better

for instance, u love ice cream very much
but u can't eat them because u have allergies
how do u actually overcome ur love ice cream when u can't consume them as it is gonna harm u?which option would u prefer?
A. keep ice cream in sight, have people around u eating ice cream but facing the fact that u can't even touch them
B. keep ice cream out of ur sight!

I know most people enjoy breaks
I had to admit it but at times I hate breaks
it just give me extraneous time to think about unnecessary stuff
keeps me emo for days
I rather have days where I am as busy as a bumble bee
at least I know I am productive

I've discovered a few things about myself lately
wondering whether these things are beneficial or are they gonna harm me?
however, I am enjoying those changes in me
I know this is pretty random talking about myself but I just wanna rant

Anyway, had been nailed down with piles and piles of assignments for the past 2 weeks
that's y I did not have any time to spare for blogging
and in any case I do have time to spare, my mind would be out of words to blog as I am writing a few essays for few different subjects
I know that sounds really exaggerating but it's true
juggling between 3 essays in 2 subjects within 2 days
so I guess a degree in arts is basically nothing much except essays
those are all done by now coz I am having my mid term break
time flies, I am already in the mid of the sem alr
meaning I have another 6 weeks more to my finals
but I still have another pile of assignments after the break which are like major ones
those that carries majority of my assesstment marrks and grades

on sat, went on a 1 day trip to malacaa
I know it what r u guys thinking
y malacca out of so many places in malaysia?
well I have no idea also..swt
the trip was organised by a club I joined earlier this sem
a trip that was meant for bonding and ice breaking between the club members
putting aside the memories that I have been there with family and friends for a million times
this time it was different
I went to places that I did not visit previously like the baba n nyonya musuem and also the river cruise
those are not my main priorities in the trip
what I hoped I could do was to make more friends, know more of "monash people"

By the end of the trip, I did achieve my goals
I grew closer to the people I know
I met a lot of people as in like friends that really "click"
lastly, I don't deny the fact that this world is small
I got to know 2 people from klang and 1 of them is a fren of someone I knew back in high school
how small could the world be?

I felt so awfully pathetic on thursday
I doubt u all remember but it was raining cats and dogs in the evening
and it shall be an evening to remember

why do I feel awfully pathetic?

like I said earlier, it was raining cats and dogs that evening
as usual, I would need to walk all the way to sunway college to wait for the bus
so, it was almost time when I am supposed to walk there
but as I was about to make my way there, it started raining
I thought maybe I should stay put for some time to wait for the rain to stop or at least when it's not that heavy
that never did happen and because I was running out of time

I had to use my silly-bodoh-useless-hong leong-red- white umbrella
walking in the rain with an umbrella like that is a very unpleasant experience
upon reaching that place, I realised the only shed I could get there was trees to be in view of the buses
but we are advised not to stand under trees when there is lightning
therefore, I had to bare standing under the umbrella in that heavy rain and waited for the bus
the bus only came half an hour later
as I was standing there, I could sense the people around looking at me
they must be having a mindset that this girl is so bodoh
"y is she standing there with her umbrella instead of having herself under the shed across the street?"
fyi, I am not that stupid
if I could see the buses from the other side of the street I would have made my way there
and not standing so stupidly under the rain
kesimpulannya, having to walk there, wait there and have people around me thinking that I am stupid makes me feel awfully pathetic

this weekend had another assignment done
submitting on mon
but there are more to come
in the following 2 weeks, I have 3 assignments to submit
2 which falls on the same day
I realised in uni we are none other than piled up with assignments
gosh!

this is a weekend that I would say hectic..
to some of you. it might sound nothing much
but in my days of procastination, these comparatively sounds way more for a weekend

Friday (20/03)

I was told about siew kuan's lost on wed
intended to go for the funeral on thurs but I was too tired and I had no mode of transport to get there
and so I went on friday
being at the funeral reminds me of my grandpa's funeral
it seems true that chinese funerals are considered more of a family gathering rather than a funeral alone
u can see people griefing but at the same time u can also hear people laughing
looking at siew kuan's parents, I really feel sorry for them
they looked so pale while siew kuan and the siblings looked ok
maybe it's just their way of concealing their grief

siew kuan's grandma has always been a grandma of my own
I am grateful and thankful for the years that she cooked lunch for us
or else we die of hunger..haha
and also the times where we actually sat down altogether to have a grandma-grandchildren talk about loads of stuff
recalling the last time I met her,she was in such despair and she seems to lose all hope on everything
she whinds about how lonely she was at home alone when all the grandchildrens are in school
how she can't do the cooking anymore
how she needs to walk relying on a walking aid and much much more
at the point, it saddens me to see her that way
now that she's gone, I am sure she will be free from all that has been bothering her these years
Rest In Peace.

Saturday (21/03)

sat mornings are like heaven to me, but this sat morning is hell
I had to wake up as early as 8 coz I agreed upon accompanying my aunt to the colleges' open days
first up, we went to SEGI college in subang to check out the A Levels program thr
it turned out that they only offer courses in sciences and my cousin intends to take up arts
then we are introduced to the ADP which seems pretty interesting
but my cousin is kinda reluctant to take up the course coz he claims that it is "unpopular"
and the director of examination thr who was hard selling this program is kinda sacarstic
so we decided that we might as well pass

therefore my aunt suggested we have a look at inti
there, they also had something like ADP
but besides that, they also offer UK degress
after hours of enquiring and explaination from the cousellor
they were merely deciding on the diploma
they thought they might just go home and infrom my uncle 1st
and he gives them the green light, they would register the day after

by the end of the day, I still can't get over that stupid SEGI college examination director

Sunday (22/03)

went to check out caryn's graduation showcase in subang parade with cartoonz
the exhibition was not big or huge
but the work displayed are good
the people there are talented people even though there were very few of them
students from the faculty of arts and design had impressive works
the one I admire the most is the student from photography and industrial design
all of them actually spent a lot on getting their stuff displayed, the setup of the place and of coz the rental

had a late lunch with caryn
then headed back home

basically that is what I claim as a hectic weekend

this is just a random post as I was sitting in the comp lab in uni waiting for time to pass..
I spend most of my breaks here..
facebook-ing, scrolling through various blogs of others..
today I found something really interesting..not exactly found.
I watched in on TV and I was really wondering where this restaurant is located..
hence,I googled it and I found the official website..

this is actually a conceptual restaurant
the difference between this restaurant and our normal lepak-ing cafes and restaurants is that they have very I would say disgusting seats and tables
but at the same time u find it interesting and creative
the disgusting seats I am referring to are toilet bowls..there is no typo error here..TOILET BOWLS
and the tables are either sinks or bath tubs
despite the disgusting seats and tables, they have 3 very cute lil mascots:
1) toilet bowl
2)shower
3)poo

the food was on the higher end according to some visitors of the restaurant
as for drinks, they have a series of soap drinks with interesting colours(sodas)
and the bowls and plates of the restaurant are also toilet bowls and bath tubs
with the furnitures, it makes the restaurant looks inviting though the interior was ok
some did say the food was not good but it's something conceptual
nobody said conceptual restaurants have good food
but I think it's worth trying as it is something new for everyone
so embrace urself for a disgusted meal!

yesterday marks the end of my classes for this week

the very first week where classes commence

after 3 days of classes, I think I do have an idea on what uni life is all about

let me briefly take u through my 1st week of classes

1)environment

-the uni is neither too big nor too small, their offices are all in one building so we always noe where to head to when we need assistance from the lecturers or even the administrators. Lecture halls are not as comfy as the ones I had in college coz the seats in my college are cushioned and here they are plastic seats which really hurt ur butt even it's only an hour. But classrooms are nice compared to college, they have better and more organised tables and more comfy chairs. Next the cafeteria which is the only place we can eat as the other places seems really far, the price and choices of food are of no difference with what we can get in subang and pj area.

2)classes

-for this sem I am having 4 subjects consisting of 1 core subject, 2 electives and 1 LAN subject.

went for lectures and tutorials and everything was really different from college. Firstly, buying a textbook is not necessary in college but in uni, there is a need to get a textbook or else u can't study and u can't do ur assignments. Then is the referencing system. Lecturers in uni is really concerned about plagirism and marks will be deducted even if u miss a punctuation in citing the reference. Next, research is a very popular form of studying in uni. U need to look up for information on ur own in the library such as books and journals to actually get reliable resources. We tend to turn to the internet when we need information but the info provided there is just too vast and we can't identify which is true and false. So we need to do it the traditional way by going back to the books to seek for help.

3)social circle

-being an international and worldwide known education instituition, the campus tend to have many foreign students from china, indonesia, korea, iran and even exchange students from australia. it's great knowing that we would have classmates from all over the world and from different cultures. Nevertheless, we still tend to stick to our very own company of friends and accquantainces. Being in a society like that drives me away from how I used to socialize with people. People of the same culture might even look at you from a different perspective in fact those who are from a different culture treat u equally. I got to know this malay girl from singapore and we became instant friends. Trying to get a friend from the same culture seems really distant right now.

the past week was my orientation week in monash
this symbolises the start of something new
from new environment to new friends

activities range from workshops to games
3 days out of 5 I was there
1st day was not that bad, nothing much though
brief introduction to our school and the commitees in the student's association

day 2 was a workshop thingy
din expect it to be boring but anyway it was still bareable
only a few students took part
seems like arts students are really artsy fartsy
because our arts workshop with the science workshop, science workshop has way more students attending

day 3 was a brief introduction to our courses, lecturers and subjects
then there was the librabry tour n campus tour
monash is way smaller than tarc, hence it easier to get around
we dun need to walk miles just to go for tutorials or lectures at least

that's a brief summary on my orientation week
my classes commences on tues
looking forward..LOL

p/s: plan to get a bob haircut..think it will work on me?anyone?I need opinions..

I'm eager to adapt to the environment and settle down with my studies
I'm feeling nervous as I am meeting strangers
I have the urge to be independent hence lightening my parents' burden
It's all so mixed up
I dun even know what should I feel now

Frankly I'm still not well prepared yet with everything so new to me
The feeling of anxiety is actually the pillar I'm holding on to go on with life in uni
Besides that I had friends to enlighten me about what I am about to face
I'll guess that everything will be just fine when time comes

I realise I am someone who likes living in the past
I always like taking a stroll down memory lane even though I know that it's time to move on with life
By taking this stroll, I always a feeling of discomfort though I am confident the memories would stay fresh in my mind all the time
Despite the memories, taking a step forward in life seems hard
Accepting the fact that life would be different as the people I meet would be bringing different experience in a whole new stage of life
I wouldn't even know whether will I be accepted well in this society that I have not lived in
A society so unfamiliar to me, I wonder will I be able to fit in at all
I doubt I will be able to adapt to the changes that is waiting for me at the other end of the line where I am standing now

I believe I was where I am 2 years back, only difference is that I had more experience in life, an aim to achieve and the amount of people I got to know grew
Standing at the very same spot again, I began to realise I have to take those steps again to move forward
I do not know whether by taking those steps again, will I be able to survive in that society I am about to face

At times, I tried being optimistic but at the midst of it, the anxiety would just sail through without anchoring
On top of that, I keep telling myself to prepare for whatever that is coming my way and when I am prepared, there's always something there to beat me down and never let me stand strong again be it thoughts or flashes of memories

Believing in ourselves is one of the factors shaping who we are now
My lack of confidence did not bring me far enough to let me stand strong and face all this with a smiling face
Even putting this whole post in place took me an hour and with the company of some emo song to put me in the mood
You may see me as someone with no worries coz that's just a way of keeping myself happy in a crowd and I felt it's hard for me to express my feelings in a speech
Well, just wish me luck in gaining the courage to face whatever I need to in the near future

CNY '09

I noe this post comes a bit late..
but I just wanna post it..
furthermore I am still in the CNY period..
it's Chap Goh Mei..

so this year's CNY was kinda fun..

I used to travel back to Ipoh with my family to visit my gramdma..

and almost every year it's the same..

we dun really go visiting but this year was really different..

the trip this year had a twist..
my brother and I got to know more about Perak thru my mum n grandma's eyes and perspective..

In my mind all along,Ipoh was a town..nothing different form klang..nothing special..

the only thing I noe is different is of course the food whereby they are way cheaper and way more delicious down that small little town..

but I learned that there is more to it..

there are certain things we can't see in klang..

and comparing klang to Ipoh,I think I would prefer Ipoh..

adventuring in the town with my mum,lil bro n grandma was a great experience..

for once I felt that this CNY is much much more meaningful rather than sitting at home..

so while venturing,we took photos..

my bro n I were so excited..

and we did managed to get some shots..

this is actually some old planes we found next to the airport in Ipoh..my mum told me that the only airport in Perak is actually abandoned but the maintainence is still good..the building is still in good condition from what we can see..

this is another old plane which I find more significant..

this I think would be the biggest outlet of OLDTOWN kopitiam since this is the hometown of this brand..I got another one which is more close up but I dunno where my bro placed it..so just bare with this..it's a 2 storey outlet..

the ever famous tanjong rambutan..it's actually a very small town in perak..n the hospital bahagia ppl always joke about is really there..too bad I can't get a shot coz we can't even see the hospital..

this is the only high school in this town..this town has only one primary school and one high school..imagine klang..how many high school it has?

on the way back from tanjung rambutan,we bump upon this shop by the name of "Soon Choy"..n that is actually my dad's name..we were wondering when did our dad opened a hardware shop back in Ipoh? furhermore he's from klang..

a very beautiful memorial park up in the hills..really beautiful..must cost a lot..

I just find this shot of the tree is really beautiful..the really contrasting colours of the leaves..

the railway station in Ipoh town..see the maintainence there? it is really well kept..in fact I think it looks brand new from far..besides,the town is kinda clean..

this is a shot of a cotton tree..it's kind bald coz the cottons buds are all on the ground..in Ipoh we can find a lot of cotton tree..in fact I have shot whereby the tree is full of cotton..all blossomed..it's really beautiful..looks like snowflakes on trees during winter..again I dunno where my bro placed it..gotta go dig it from him..will show u guys some other time..

well these are some of the shots we took but I can't post them all up here..

I guess I am getting a lil bias here..

I seem to like my mum's hometown very much now..

despite the good food n good price,there is just so much to see and learn..

I even actually got a chance to visit a chicken farm but we missed it coz my mum's fren went to China for CNY..too bad..

what I've seen is just only half of what is there in the town..

there is just so much to explore more..

the temples in the caves,orchards,those kampungs with big n smelly markets n small stalls selling "chee cheong fun","ABC","char kuay teow" and a load more..

then there is modern part of the town of shopping malls and sunway city of Ipoh..

maybe another trip back there in another year,I would be able explore the whole city..

this is just part of my CNY..

maybe it's due to the recession..
this year's CNY dun seem to be any merrier than the years before..
no more crowds in the hypermarket rushing for mandarin oranges..
aunties in the morning market is only buy daily usage products..
no more crowds in shopping malls grabbing new colthes..
no pasar malam stalls selling cny deco shouting "3 for 10"

even in my family and at home nothing seems merrier..
no more cny decos like the years before..
workload in cleaning the hse do seem lesser..
but there are more painting to do..
my gates are in purple this year..
and I am liking that colour very much..
my hse certainly looks brighter this year..
I was even worried that it might turn out ugly when my mum n I first chose that colour..
but now I thank God it looks great..

my status currently:
So fyi, I am officially unemployed now..
mushrooms are growing everywhere..
will be starting my studies end of feb..
would be taking degree in communication n psychology in monash..
that would be a double major..
a 3 years duration..long way to go..
3 years from now,not much of a plan yet maybe a lil charity before I start work officially

What do I mean by "a lil charity"?
Recently, was told by caryn about a program working abroad to help the ones in need in a few countries like China and Africa..all u have to do is just pay for ur air ticket and leave the rest to them..they provide food and accomodation..so in return u help out those who r in need like HIV patients or even children who do not get proper education..it seems really interesting and it was really what I was looking for all along..I've always wanted to do such things but I dun really noe who to approach and when caryn told me about this I got really attached to the program..so i thought I might try it out..I might do it during my summer breaks or maybe even after i graduate..I guess after graduating would be better as I would have all the time I need and also the money I need..

guess i am straying from my topic already..
so I'll just stop..

Distance.Gap.

Things can change in the matter of seconds.."tick tock tick tock", that's how time changes..
With every passing second, the time changes; people changes..
But the gap between a second from the other is not even measureable..
I'm sure that none of us matters how far is one second from the other but I'm sure that people matters about what happens in that split second..

Siting on my bed today, I realise that things have change as every second, minute and hour passes by. Nothing is how it used to be anymore; the relationship between people, the priorities in life and each step we will be taking next. I came to understand how gap and distance influence relationship between people. The distance maynot be too far nor too near but still it manages to affect a relationship. I am not talking about relationship betwwen couples nor lovers as that will be different. The one I am referring to is friendship. Even a distance of 2 classrooms can affect the friendship between 2 best friends of many years. They may used to have a lot in common but in the matter of months, everything changes from something to nothing.

Suprisingly, a distance of 4 classes did not even affect a single bit of the friendship between them. They still get along really well. How can distance affect one and do not affect the other? In fact, the nearer one is drifting apart and the further one is drawing closer. This could also happen in a split second just like how the previous second u're in 2008 and the next second u're in 2009.

I noe I am lazy and lagging..
I practically blog once a month..

Been pretty busy lately..

Much has changed in these few weeks..

1 week I am still working in the company..

The other week I am in Muar..

The next week I am stuck at home..

So, official updates..

1. I am no longer working in wisma genting anymore..

my contract ended on 1/12..was really sad leaving everyone there knowing the fact that I'll hardly see them anymore..too bad I did not get a chance to take any pics with them before I left..after working for 6 months,I understand how hard it is to survive in the working society..u have to work hard just to earn that little amount of money..they dun come flying down from the sky..they aren't like falling leaves during autumn..working long hours and getting sick throughout my working life is all part n parcel of what we will be facing later in the working society..during our schooling days,we are very much pampered by our parents n teachers..how they actually spoonfeed us with information and the necessities in life..but while working,u're on ur own..u will need to learn how to interact with the ppl around u,understand them and please them in every way just so that everything goes well..firstly,u please ur boss and secondly ur clients..pleasing them is one thing..adapting to the working environment and living up to the rules and regulations is another thing..despite the fact that u need to put up with all these,there is also self satisfaction at times when u get ur salary..u're actually telling urself this:"this is what u deserve,it's what u've earned"..besides that, fulfilling other ppl's need is also another kind of self satisfaction..there are ppl on the line who just needs ur help that desparately and being able to help them is really delightful..we are also devils over the line when there is nothing else we can do to help them..we might try our best but at times there is really nothing we can do much..basically working gives u the taste of life whether is it sweet or even bitter..it all depends on how we look at it..if u choose to look on the bright side,everything seems right but if u choose to look on the darker side,nothing will ever seem right..most importantly,enjoy what u're doing and things would be much much easier..

I liked advertising but at times I just feel that I am not fit for that line..
as for PR,it seems really common..
this is one of the doubts I have in mind..

Secondly,I am thinking whether should I work part time while I pursuing my studies..
I am doubting whether will I be able to cope with my studies..
I am also thinking whether my parents will allow me to work while studying..
and what type of job should I get..
I guess it needs to be really flexible..as in time..

was browsing through friendster looking at ppl's photos..
suddenly it just hit me that I really missed out a lot on fun while I was working..
it was as though I do not have a life now..
if I do,it's only about work and nothing else but work..
I almost forgot what it feels like to be a student anymore..
I miss the freedom I have being a student..
at least my time is more flexible..
I can understand that studying and working would be totally 2 different worlds..
also because of that,what u encounter in both worlds brings different values to life,..

the people u meet at work gives u different perspectives of the world and the society u are about to step into..
they teach u the meaning of being selfish and to look out for urself..
in the working society,what u do would need to be the best for urself..
nobody's gonna ever ever catch ur back anymore..
u have to be responsible for the mistakes u've made..
and there is no such thing as pity or sympathy in this society..
at times they seem really cold blooded..
though the working environment may seem noisy and lively but deep inside it might just be pretence..
u'll never know who is true..
u'll never know who to trust..

exposing myself into this society teaches me to appreciate the time I have while I am still studying..
I can say that I am still not well prepared for the working world yet..
It's still not time yet..
Lucky this is only short term..
If ever this is a long term then this would not be right place..
I dun think I belong into a world whereby u can only sit and do nothing else but to put on a smiling face though deep down u feel like slapping them..
It's all just part of business and pretence..
well pretence is not my type though at times it's necessary to a certain extend..
I m counting down my days to the end of my contract..
Can't wait till it ends but I would miss the ppl there..
though I do not know who is true but they are fun..

I noe I have been lagging..
I noe I haven't been updating..
Let me update now..

Since the shooping spree,nothing has really changed..
I continue working..
I even went back to work on off days as the weekends I was left alone at home..
The result of being so "hardworking" and also because of something I ate which I dunno really noe what..
That's according to the doctor..
The consultation fees plus medicine cost me 60 bucks..
This time 2 days MC is only sufficient for me to recover..
I got really bad food poisoining..
It was really bad..I had never ever fall sick like this..

It all started on friday night while I was working..
I was feeling a little uneasy and I was having a terrible headache..
Then I felt like vomiting..
After work,I vomited twice and right after I vomited I had fever..
It was darn darn cold as I was taking the bus home..
The next day,nothing got better so I went to the clinic..
Got my temperature measured,it was 39.5..
38.5 is already considered high,this is like SUPER HIGH..
The doctor said this is a really bad food poisoining..
Since my fever was super high,I decided to take an injection..
Then he gave me loads of medicine..
pengsan!
All with different colours(orange,black,green,white n red) and all of them are huge..
Scary..

Basically I had no problem taking huge tablets but this time I find it really scary..
I even find it hard to swallow them..
They gave me a feeling that it will get stuck halfway down my throat....
haha..but it was really making my life hard..
I can't eat what I want..doc asked me to stick to a plain diet of white porridge and white bread..
I can't even sleep well at night..keep having stomachache due to the "fong" in the stomach..
yday night was the worst night of all..
I visited the toilet really often in like 4 hours around 6 to 7 times..
I noe this seems exaggerating but it's true..
So I promised myself not to work on off days anymore..

merdeka weekend..

the merdeka weekend was really long..

family went to bukit merah without me..

dah la cannot tag along on the trip..
fall sick pulak..

so had to see the doctor..

drove to jusco to meet up with mei kay..(30/8)

she hasn't change much..

but she has certainly gotten prettier..

she will be going to terengganu to work in oct.
will be there for a year working under club med..

that sounds fun but unfortunately I can't go..

the contract would be for a year..

but I would need to resume my studies next year..

I think that would be a great experience to expose ourselves..

after that,drove to panadamaran to see the doctor..

I din expect to catch a flu or even have a slight fever..

all I wanted was just a medical slip for 31/08..

mana tau really fall sick..

so she gave me 2 days MC..

it seems like ages since I last fall sick..

so this time it was kinda bad..

still having flu till now..

my colleagues are even telling me that my voice has changed..

then later at night,got nowhere to go for countdown..

so ajak sue ee for dinner since we both were date-less for the nite..

went for dinner at secret recipe..had prawn macroni but can't even finish..wasted la..

then sue ee suggested we go for movies..so went n check out what to watch..

after minutes of searching,we found death race..

good show..worth watching..

n not forgetting our mascular hero of the nite jason statham..I still think he is hot..

1 more important thing during the weekeend..(29/08 - 1/09)

outings with the cartoonz again..

this time all 5 of us..

treated them to a dinner in oh sushi!..

finally we managed to get a pic of 5 of us..

but it was really great hanging out with them again..

last weekend was great..

got to meet up with caryn on fri nite for a late dinner..

since i was craving for MURNI since I dunno when so caryn dearie brought me there..

so that nite I had the greatest dinner of all..

the food there was great..

we had claypot 'loh shu fun',roti hawaii and cheese naan..

and that is only 2 of us with 3 plates of food..

I think people on the tables beside us was looking at us coz we are eating too much..

after that headed back to caryn's bro's hse in damansara coz she had to pack some stuff home..

then at NZX square,there are these beautiful trees lited up with blue and pink lights..

so I decided to take pics with them..

then on sat,I finally got to meet up with the whole family for my grandpa's 80th birthday

too bad I dun have those pics..

then at home I had movie marathon with my bro..

watch 3 movies in a day..

watched chuck and larry,sweney todd and what happened in vegas..

all was good except sweeney todd..

it wasn't like what I expected..

really emo show with music that is so darn emo..

and the way he kills..makes me afraid of those blades..

1. going back to my home sweet home

meeting my parents after weeks of missing them..when I was still studying,I tend to like spending my time here in KL..but once I started working,I understand the meaning of home and family..I learn to appreciate my time with them..Now even when my mum starts mumbling,I would be really grateful because I noe she cares for me..When my dad starts being overprotective,I am really happy because I noe he will be there for me..Talking to my brother and watching tv with him was nothing much previously but now it meant we siblings are spending quality time together..all that was something I used to do everyday and at times I think is routine but this time around,I dun feel like coming back to the place where I am staying now..It's HEAVEN at home..

2. meeting up with the cartoonz....

they cheer me up no matter what..I have this really special bonding with them..maybe they are just my soulmates..I always noe that i can count on them no matter what..though time spent with them is short bgh our but we had fun and we would laugh our heads off..we talk about everything just to keep each of us updated..met up with them last week and watched the mummy 3 with them..I dun think I had been that happy ever since I started working..we took loads and loads of pic..we played around with fries in fron of the camera..we put on funny faces just so that we would look like SK..so that we could be as bubbly as she is..LOL..thanx guys!that was the best friday I ever had since I sterted working..

it has been almost a month since I was officially on floor..

"on floor" meaning I can take up calls on my own and make reservations on my own..

I used to have the impression that Genting Highlands is where ppl go for vacation when they need a place to relax and have some fun..

But now I realize that it is not what it seems to be..

Working in the company actually spoils the good impression that I actually had for that place..

In my opinion now,that is a place where greedy and materialistic ppl go to when satisfy their needs..

They are actually that desparate to gamble even though they need to spend millions..

They are not willing to spend for food and accomodation but they are willing to spend in the casino..

To me, they sound like drug addicts who needs their drugs desparately on the phone..

Like a baby crying for milk..

That's how they sound on the phone..

working for only almost a month,I "hear" all sorts of ppl..

Some can be really nice while some say u bullshit..

There was once this customer called in asking for rooms on that day..

So I told him that all the hotels are fully booked..

And he said "Genting staffs are big liars" (direct translation from mandarin)

I mean how desparate can a person be to spend money in the casino..

It's not like u are gonna blow a chance of winning a few billion not spending a night there..

Then I had this customer on the line today..

another singaporean lady asking on some promotion..

the phone rang yesterday while I was working..
and the name that appeared was her..
"Valerie" was her name..
a friend I knew from primary..
a friend i grew very close..
almost like sisters..
in fact we are pet sisters..

I dun even remember the last time I saw her..
I think the last time I met her was the last time I went back with her to klang..
hanging out with her once again was fun..
we met up in sg wang coz apparently that's the nearest place to hang out and convienient..
we had dinner in this korean restaurant..
n their ramen is actually MAGGI MEE..
n I had to pay almost 10 bucks for that bowl of noodle..

everytime we meet up,we talk about almost everything..
the best thing is that I can tell her just anything..

we can't seem to keep any secret when we start talking..

I think that's the reason y we were so close to each other..
we understand each other very well..

I really dun understand how some ppl can toggle between work n life..

they can work but they can still have a LIFE..

after working for almost a month,I realize this might not be the job for me..

I am impressed with the ppl who can work there for years..

the stress they get from the customers especially singaporeans..

whereby they pay for a 3 star service but they expect a 5 star service..

I think that's what made their country so advanced..

they have expectations..

maybe becoz I am still new,so I dun have a way with them..

sometimes I just dunno how should I handle them..

my buddy micheal always say that u have to learn to be cold blooded..

he says that is the only way to shoo off those fussy customers..

and ur EQ has to be really high..

u have to fulfill the customers needs..

answer all their enquiries..

even though it takes half a n hour..

some can really get to your nerves..

working in a call centre whereby it is compulsory to work 12 hrs a day is really tiring me out..

I knew that i have been long gone from this site..
really sorry for not updating so long..
1stly,it's because there was no internet connection..
2ndly,was busy working for the past 2 weeks..
so updates everyone..hehe..

as I told u guys, I got a job in wisma genting as a Customer relations Officer(CRO) in short customer service..
professional u noe..LOL..
for the past 2 weeks,I underwent the training course which was boring most of the time...
this week comes "buddy training" whereby I have sort of a "guru" to teach me all I need to know before they can let me go on the floor on my own..
so that "guru" of mine is called micheal..
siao siao guy but I would define him as adorable..

If u really like to noe the real meaning of "cute",search it in the dictonary and u shall noe y..

I heard much about this job from the colleagues in the company..
will be under a lot pressure n ur EQ need to be really high..
will be facing a lot of fussy customers specially singaporeans according them..
alot to memorise especially rate plan,room codes n packages..
then got product tests and weekly challenges which reminds me of studying..
but in a way it trains people to multitask..
that is something I must really learn..

actually about a week ago..
well I had a great time and there were loads of photos..

that was my 3rd interview..

my plans for now is work for 6 months there..
if ever I am capable,I might take some freelancing for advertising..
just get a taste of what it is like..
I was thinking that working in an ad agency for that few months might not be worth it..
not having my very own transport is already a big problem..
somemore with the odd working hours,public transport would be inconvienient..
working as an intern does not pay off well..
I wont be able to support my life in KL if I am an intern..
So the only way to experience advertising is through freelancing..

well,those are my plans now..

getting really sick of the tutors this semester..
they are so darn fickle..
dah la they are giving so many assignments, can't they decide on 1 deadline..
making us feel like a fool..
firstly they said A n then the next day B pulak..
sickening la..

long story la..
I have a design subject this semester after so many semesters without them..
n the tutor is still the same but this time much much more fickle..
we had our presentation last week and she rejected all of our designs..
being a second year last sem student, that's quite embarassing..
she asked to choose our very best design and she approved..
but on that presentation day,she said it's boring..
how can someone be in that state of mind in just a matter of days..
after that,she said she wants to see them this afternoon..
but when we went n see her,she let us down..
she said she will see them on thursday..

N then there is other lecturer who also that fickle..
she keeps postponing our mid term and deadlines after seeing us putting all our efforts in just to satisfy her..
I am like WTF la..
what the hell are they thinking and what do they are doing la..
I heard of the last sem being tough but that is not how it works..
u can give us piles and piles of assignments but pls do not make us look like fools..

declaring it very soon..
kinda occupied now so I'll just make everything brief..

since I started my new semester,work have really been piling..
one after another..

average only 5 hrs per day and work 12 hrs a day..
my pocket is dry..

this sem started off quite well..
it was kinda of a good headstart to a happy n last semester..
let's just hope everything goes well and we will be able to stick through thick and thin..
we are finally back together..
smiling and laughing together..talking like there was nobody else in the world except us..
going out on outings like we used to do..
though we will be separated into groups for assignments but I am sure we can still be together..
I am really glad to see that..
this happiness overcome my the hectic timetable I have though it's only 2 subjects..

one more good news to announce is that I finally got this part time job..

Date: 21st - 23rd March 2008
Pay: 250 per day
Task: sell BMW merchandise(in fact not much promoting need to be done)

oh well,by luck the company which interviewed me for ths job was an advertising agency..
when I told them that I was studying advertising,they kinda advise me to apply for some internships after graduating...
they even offered me to keep in touch with them if ever I am interested..
so I guess I killed 2 birds with a stone..
with their advise,it actually helped me to make my decision on what to do after I graduate..
I am planning to apply for internships after this and then be an intern for half a year or something..
and then only pursue my degree..
at least I think the experience of being an intern can help me to decide whether advertising is the line I would like work for the rest of my life..
if not,I might change my major in degree..

People say that u might be lost now but there would be a moment where u will be able to decide what u wanna do with ur life and I think I have been thru that moment..

a minor flood occured due to the heavy rain..

bandar botanic looked and sound like some really high clas-expensive kinda housing area but as a matter of fact,it is not..

It may seem like it on the outside but once u settled down in this area,u will see how well did the contractors do their jobs..
they covered up the drains to make it look nice but do the drains serve their purpose of a drain?

I am feeling really bored recently,I have practically nothing much to do except housechores..
It's really killing me..
How I wished that my holidays wasn't that long..
How I wished that my last sem has already started..
Then I can concentrate on asignments instead of rotting here at home..

As much as I wished that I am studying now but I wouldn't want my sem to start that soon either..
Because this will be the very last semester of my diploma..
Though graduating might sound jolly but to me,it's a sign of farewell..
I would be leaving all my frens back in college and to have a reunion would be hard as they stay in different parts of the country..
Leaving my housemates would make me miss them even more..
All those time where celebrating the birthdays of each and every single member in the family would be missed..
All those times where study together for exams, cracking jokes to feel better in times of pressure wil stay fresh in my mind..
As for classmates who have been there for me for 2 whole years with all the support and love,I really appreciate them..

As for the soulmates I found in college,I reallly love you guys..thanks for being truthful and respecting me for who I am..

there is no need to mention anything..I knew I have been long gone..LOL..there was the finals and then CNY straight after that..there wasn't much time for me to update as I have to prepare for thr trip to Hong Kong during CNY..in actual,this trip might sound fun to u guys but still I am obligated to accompany my grandma and take care of her during the trip..plus going with a tour doesnt give u much time to go round places n shop..by putting all that behind, I still managed to enjoy myself though I am not satisfied without going on a shopping spree..

sorry for the absence..I guess it's kinda awful this time..almost a month already..so much happened in dec but I din managed to update..I dunno which word should I use to describe my life for the past few weeks..

Therefore I won't be speaking of what has passed as there is too much to talk about..this would be just a short entry to update about stuffs..

I'll just update from now..I m currently having my finals for the 5th semester..it will be ending exactly 1 week before CNY(phew!)..every 2 years was actually the year whereby normally students of TARC will have the finals during CNY but this year onwards they adjusted in order to make it in time for CNY..was darn happy when I heard last year..

I have only 1 more semester before I graduate from my Dip. and I am actually heavy hearted to leave my coll mates who has been there for me for almost 2 years..they gave me the help and support I needed..they share my laughter and tears..we made it thru every assignment though not with flying colours but it was great working with them...they taught me how to dress better..they give me the experience of clubbing and KTV,an experience to actually be there for a countdown with my frens..get sprayed together and running in the rain..BBQ sessions,steamboat sessions,the whole "kim gary" experience..the taiwan dramas..the taiwan idols which I m not really into when I was in secondary..the chinese songs which I know least of..the chinese words which I was never taught before..the yum cha sessions..they brighten up my coll life..without them,I dun think I'll have such a wonderful coll life..Hence I am making full use of this last semester to do all the stuff I have never one with them..

sorry again..it's just that this sem is hectic compared to the previous ones..so let me just update before I start neglecting it for another week..I wont be in malaysia the following week as I am in Singapore..after all the hardwork and sleepless nites, I think I deserve a good holiday to reward myself..

I shall start my updates without further complaints...

went to KLCC to conduct a survey for my assignment, but after 2 hrs of painful pair of legs I only maged to get 5 ppl to fill u my survey form..how pathetic..the ppl there are like rushing for their lives in a war..at last, we gave up and let my "hou pak tong" take her lunch..not forgetting the camwhoring part..haha..

later on that week, my frens wanted to have a karaoke session and so we headed to greenbox in Sg.Wang..haha..our usual place for this sessions coz there will be student and free titbits..can u believe that there were only 3 of us but we got a room for like 10..unexpected...we camwhored too but this time not in the room neither the toilet but with christmas decos out side..haha..it wasn't that nice compared to last year..

Aladdin and the magic lamp..

Despite the fact that it is in Malay,others are kinda good for a local Malay play..the songs are good(if the soundtrack wasn't that expensive,I might have bought it)...characterization was good too...sound effects thumbs up...props well done..costumes are cute...I forgot the main point,the characters are acted by kids aged 5 to 15..aren't they great?

at first we thought it was an english play..but when we had a look at the ticket where it was printed in Malay,we were guessing that it is in Malay..we were kinda disappointed coz translating would be a problem then when we need to write the review..when we reached our venue in Istana Budaya, we were even more confirmed that it is a Malay play and the ppl who came were almost all Malays and a whole lot of kids..so I guess it was a play for kids..haha..and guess what? we find it fun to watch such plays once in a blue moon..it takes u off everything that's in ur mind..looking at the naive and innocent kids playing their roles and putting so much effort in to entertain small kids and big kids like us makes me feel very comfortable inside..Ibesides that, they try their very best to make u laugh throughout the play..I was really relaxed though my feet are hurting very much...I enjoyed it very much..these are the wonders kids can do..*claps* for the kids..well done!

are we still gonna keep in touch after all this?

everyone changes but why does it have to be us?
why can't everything stay the same?
